Countdown to #NCAA13 (Sneak Preview)

I don’t always play video games, but when I do, I play sports.

Seriously though I’ve been playing a lot of EA Sports’ NCAA12 on the PS3 lately in anticipation for the new NCAA13 release on July 10th. It’s nice to relax and cool down after a long day at the office and try to help the Syracuse Orange reclaim their rightful place on top of the college football charts. If you haven’t already checked out NCAA12, you should just wait a week because this year’s game is better than ever.

I had the chance to check out a sneak preview of NCAA 13 thanks to WalMart and #cbias – here are a few of the new features:

Heisman Challenge — Win it for your school as you play as one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners under center, in the backfield, or split wide, see if you can utilize his legendary skills for your favorite college team in a quest to match his award-winning historical performances and win the Heisman Trophy once again. Choose from the following former Heisman greats:

· Robert Griffin III
· Doug Flutie
· Herschel Walker
· Marcus Allen

An All-New Passing Game — A revolutionary passing system brings added authenticity to the Quarterback position from ball trajectory to play action pass to the option. Enhanced receiver control puts you in position to make a play on the ball and new read and react defensive coverage delivers greater realism on the gridiron.

Reaction Time — Great players see and feel the game differently. With Reaction Time, the game slows down during key moments, increasing your on-field awareness and opening up more opportunities as you sense things before they happen.

Dynamic Dynasty — Recruiting goes deeper than ever with the addition of dynamic recruiting pitches. For the first time ever, your recruiting grades can change each week based on your performance in Dynasty mode. In addition, Gameday Saturdays come to life with live studio updates and enhanced commentary by Rece Davis.

This year, like last year, EA Sports is launching with the “You’re Covered” promotion which actually allows you to put your face on the cover of the game and print it out to put in the case. Talk about a great way to give a gift to someone, open up the present and have their face right on it? Serious cool points. I was bummed last year they didn’t include Syracuse, but I went with Florida State instead.

You can visit their Facebook page for more info as they’ll be launching another version when NCAA13 drops, and you’ll definitely need to be familiar with it next week for my blog.

When the game launches at WalMart on July 10th I’ll be picking up a copy, but also as a special treat for my readers, I will have one copy to give out for FREE! Stay tuned to my review next week to learn more about #NCAA13 and the freebie.
