Good Call Bro iG1 iPhone Handset and Docking Station Review and Giveaway

The Good Call Bro is a bluetooth handset for the iPhone, made by GoFusion. Boasting up to 4 hours of talk time on a single charge, this sleek iPhone docking station and handset combo gives the freedom of a wireless handset without the bulk of the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s.

I’ve tried many different bluetooth headsets, but never a bluetooth handset. Now I know you’re asking yourself, the iPhone is already wireless isn’t it? Yes. It is. But there is a lot to be said for the cool factor of the Good Call.

After first taking it out of the box and setting it up, I was pleased to find that the docking station isn’t flimsy at all. The solid base holds both the iPhone and handset well. There’s a micro USB plug in the back to connect to the wall outlet via A/C or the computer with USB.

Pairing with my iPhone was a snap, the included directions card had me up and running in a few seconds.

This would be a great gift for anyone who is regularly walking around taking a lot of calls on their iPhone. I set it up in my apartment and can walk around and leave my iPhone charging in the wall, it’s pretty great.

I’ve put the Good Call to use quite a bit already, it’s way more comfortable to take a call in the car too. I tend to use the Apple Earbuds as my primary headset, just because of convenience, but people have complained about wind and other things interfering with the microphone.

After using it extensively for about three days so far, I’ve logged about four hours of talk time on it. Three long conversations, and then about an hour calling random people just testing it. Not one of the 12 people I spoke with had a problem, and thought the quality was pretty good. I’m testing out the iG1 but there is also a higher end model the iG1HD with HD quality audio. I didn’t have a problem using it and look forward to many calls on the Good Call iG1.

  1. My iPhones battery life is primarily used on what else?! talking on the phone. either between my radio station, or the baseball grounds I work with or the Event Companies I freelance with that are all around the country. Calls back and forth between tour managers and my hometown bosses drain battery life while in my office. And lets not even mention the International calls to family in the middle east which a must Every Day, talk about battery death.

  2. I spend the MOST time on my iPhone taking photos, editing, and uploading them to various social media outlets… I talk on the phone a lot too :)

  3. About 60% of my day is talking on my iPhone and the other 40% is split between surfing the net, taking and editing pics, and scanning work docs with TurboScan.

My phone is near dead by 1100am and for the rest of the day I am always looking for somewhere to charge it!

    Great review Nick!

However,12 days ago we had our first baby and the iPhone has turned into baby communication central. There has been gratuitous amounts of picture taking, followed up by emailing and texting said pics! Also, the alarm clock is getting a run for its money at 11pm 1 am, 4 am, and 7 Am
